Aliyev/As compare with the corresponding period of 2006, the volume of drilling works carried out by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) increased by 77.5% and made up 43.359 meters. Notably, in the first quarter of 2006, this indicator was 24.365 meters, a source in SOCAR has said. Starting from the beginning of 2007, a total 23 wells have been drilled. Drilling works have been launched on 26 ones.
The major increase in the speed of drilling fell at SOCAR's Drilling and Exploratory Works - "Bayil Limani". The volume of works in this direction has increased in 2.3 times, and the speed of drilling - in three times. The SOCAR's Department has drilled three wells on the offshore field of Gunashli, and one well on the deposit of Neft Dashlari (Oil Rocks). SOCAR's other Drilling Works Department - "Absheron" increased the volume of its works in 3.7 times, and the sped of drilling - in 2.2 times. The Department has completed drilling seven wells and has launched drilling other 13 ones.
SOCAR's another Offshore Drilling Works Department - "Neft Dashlari" increased the volume of works by 22.4 % and the speed of drilling- in 1.5 time. The Department has launched three wells and has launched drilling other three ones more.
