Azerbaijan, Baku / TrendCapita l/ The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) put a new well into operation on Alat-Deniz field, a source in SOCAR stated on 25 May.
The well is 3,480m in depth. Its production capacity equals 70t of oil and 65,000cu m of gas. The well was drilled by Marine Drilling and Exploration Department 'Bayl Limany'.
Alat-Deniz field has been operational since 1986. Fourteen wells function in the field. According to geologists' assessments, the field's reserves available for mining total 1.8mln t of oil. Presently several more sections have made ready for drilling.
