Aliyev / The Gas Control Department of the Azerbaijani Industry and Energy Ministry surveyed the activities of the Department on Gas Operations of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), the head of the Gas Control Department, Asif Zeynalov, reported on 21 June.
According to Zeynalov, some thirty instructions were given in the connection of the activities of the Department on Gas Operations. The instructions mainly deal with the operation, replacement, and setting up of measuring devises. Examining Azneft's gas operations and SOCAR's oil and gas production will begin in the near future.
The Gas Control Department earlier was operating at the Azerigaz CJSC. By the decree of the Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev, the Department was transferred to the Ministry of Industry and Energy. The Department will control the efficient utilization and fool-proof operation of gas during the development of gas fields, production of energy output, gas provision (of production, processing, storage, transportation, division, liquation, and utilization), and the projection and reconstruction of industrial and consumer plants, equipment, pipelines and other facilities.
