Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend / Sabuhi Ahmadov, the Director-general of 'Azneft' company on oil and gas production of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR), has stated that 'Azneft' has drilled nine new gas wells within the first quarter of 2007.
Seven wells were commissioned, and two are in operation. All wells were drilled on the shallow part of the 'Gunashli' field, which is developed by SOCAR independently. The wells have flow rate of 4,755,000 cu m of gas and 266 tons of condensate per day.
Besides these wells, nine wells have been returned to the gas garrison of 'Gunashli' field. Some 2,135,000 cu m of gas and 121 tons of condensate are produced per day.
It is planned to drill over 20 new wells within the framework of the program to increase gas production by SOCAR in 'Gunashli' field. Their total flow rate will comprise of 5 or 6mln cu m.
