An accounting center has been created at the Gosenergonadzor (State Energy Supervision) enterprise in the Turkmen capital Ashgabat, equipped with modern hardware and software, Trend reports referring to Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.

Here, an electronic database stores information on consumers living in the capital, including addresses, the amount of electricity used, and payment terms. It is now possible to make payments via cell phones, payment terminals, and Internet provider systems.

Such centers are to be potentially opened in all regions of the country by the end of this year.

Platforms enabling purchases in online stores via the national payment system have already been developed.

Similarly, it is possible to purchase tickets online through the special website of the Turkmenhowayollary (Turkmenistan Airlines). The Rysgal joint-stock commercial bank also actively carries out work to this end, developing a payment system using QR codes - optical signs, which mobile phone owners can scan in order to be able to pay for any goods and services free of cash and bank cards.
