ADB plans to implement agricultural projects in Georgia

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) plans to implement agricultural projects in Georgia and seeks to familiarize itself with the current situation in the country, said Director of Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture Division at Asian Development Bank Donneth Walton, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia.

He made the remarks at a meeting with the First Deputy Minister of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia Giorgi Khanishvili.

The meeting was attended by representatives of relevant departments of the ministry and the bank.

The First Deputy Minister spoke about the reforms in Georgia in the field of agriculture and the projects developed by the state for the development of the industry. Khanishvili emphasized the role and importance of involving international and donor organizations in the process of effective development of agriculture.

“In recent years, as a result of good government policy, we have achieved significant success in the field of agriculture. Our goal is the development of a business-oriented agriculture in the country, an increase in production and income. There is real potential for that in the country,” Khanishvili said.
