Azerbaijan's GDP increases

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 21

Azerbaijan’s gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 0.2 percent from January through April 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, and amounted to 22.4 billion manat, Trend reports citing the State Statistical Committee.

Added value increased by 1.5 percent in the oil and gas sector of the economy, and decreased by 0.8 percent in the non-oil sector.

In the structure of GDP, 39.3 percent accounted for industry, 10.7 percent - for trade and repair of vehicles, 7.4 percent - for transport and storage, 5.6 percent - for construction, 3.9 percent - for agriculture, forestry and fisheries, 2 percent - for hospitality and catering, 1.9 percent - for information and communications, 18.9 percent - for other sectors, while net tax revenue from product imports amounted to 10.3 percent of GDP.

The country’s GDP per capita amounted to 2,249.7 manat ($1,323.3).
