Azerbaijani Finance Ministry talks on projected state budget expenditures for 2021

The expenditures of the state budget of Azerbaijan are forecasted to be 25.84 billion manats ($15.2 billion), Trend reports on September 4.

This is reflected in the statement of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Finance on the preliminary indicators of the state and consolidated budgets for 2021.

According to the ministry, of the expenditures, 18.11 billion manats ($10.65 billion) or 70.1 percent will be current expenditures, 5.38 billion manats ($3.16 billion) or 20.8 percent – capital expenditures, and 2.3 billion manats ($1.3 billion) or 9.1 percent - expenses related to public debt and obligations.

Part of the expenses - 1.78 billion manats ($1.05 billion) will be used to serve the external public debt, 417.4 million manats ($245.5 million) - to secure liabilities attracted by several public enterprises under a state guarantee, and the remaining 147 million manats ($86.4 million) - to serve the internal public debt.

Funds in the amount of 609.5 million manats ($358.5 million) are planned to be used during 2021 within the framework of cooperation with international financial institutions under the existing loan agreements.

The share of socially oriented expenditures in the total budget expenditures for the upcoming year is 42 percent.

It’s envisioned to allocate funds in the amount of 600 million manats ($352.9 million) to finance the costs for continuing measures to fight the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021.
