Volume of loans issued to trade sector in Iran disclosed

The banks and financial institutions in Iran provided loans worth about 1.41 quadrillion rials (about $33.6 billion) to the trade sector during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20-September 21, 2020), Trend reports citing Central Bank of Iran.

According to the report, 61.2 trillion rials (about $1.46 billion) worth of loans were issued for establishment of enterprises in trade sector over 6 months.

“During the reporting period, 626 trillion rials (about $14.9 billion) worth of loans were issued to the trade sector as working capital,” the report added.

In addition, the loans worth 4.43 trillion rials (about $105 million) were issued for repair work in the trade sector within six months, the report said.

According to the report, about 84.2 trillion rials (about $2 billion) worth of loans were issued for the development work in the trade sector in the same months.

“The banks and financial institutions in Iran provided loans worth 631 trillion rials (about $15 billion) to purchase personal goods and equipment in the trade sector over the past six months,” the report noted.

Furthermore, the loans worth 3.95 trillion rials (about $94.1 million) were issued for purchase of housing in the trade sector within this period.

According to the report, a total of 779 billion rials (about $18.5 million) worth of loans were issued for other purposes in the trade sector.

The banks and financial institutions in Iran provided loans worth about 6.97 quadrillion rials (about $166 billion) to various sectors during the first six months of the current Iranian year. The volume of issued loans increased by 82.3 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
