Volume of deposits in national currency increases in Azerbaijan by early 2021

The total volume of deposits in Azerbaijan amounted to 23.7 billion manat ($13.9 billion) as of early 2021, which is by 4.4 percent less than in early 2020, Trend reports citing a report from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to the CBA, the volume of deposits of non-financial organizations decreased by 5.4 percent compared to early January 2020, amounting to 13.6 billion manat ($8 billion).

As for the volume of deposits of individuals, it decreased by 5.3 percent for the year up to 8.2 billion manat ($4.8 billion).

As of 2020, deposits in foreign currency amounted to 13.3 billion manat ($7.8 billion), decreasing by 11.6 percent compared to early 2020.

As of early January 2021, there is an increase in deposits in the national currency, the volume of which increased by seven percent compared to the figure as of early January 2020, reaching 10.3 billion manat ($6.05 billion).
