Azerbaijan discloses share of household loans in total lending

The biggest share of loans issued in Azerbaijan accounted for the household sector, amounting to 46.3 percent as of early March 2021, Trend reports on March 29 citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan's statistics bulletin.

The volume of loans in the household sector decreased by 4.6 percent or 328.2 million manat ($193.05 million) compared to early March 2020, making up 6.8 billion manat ($4 billion), said the bulletin.

"The volume of loans in the field of trade and services in February 2021 decreased by 0.4 percent or 9.6 million manat ($5.6 million) compared to February 2020, reaching 2.5 billion manat ($1.5 billion). The share of the total volume of credit investments in this sector amounted to 17.2 percent," according to the bulletin.

"At the same time, the volume of loans in the field of transport and communications amounted to 860.5 million manat ($506.2 million) in February 2021, which is equal to 5.9 percent of the total volume of loans in the real sector,” said the bulletin. “This figure decreased by 312 million manat ($183.5 million) for the year. There was a decrease in lending volume by 227.1 million manat ($133.6 million) or 20 percent in the field of industry and production on an annualized basis and lending to this sector made up 908.3 million manat ($534.3 million) in February 2021."
