Iranian banks provide big loans for services sector

Iranian banks issued loans worth 2.08 quadrillion rials (about $49.6 billion) in the services sector during the first three months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through June 21, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, 209 trillion rials (about $4.98 billion) worth of loans were issued for the establishment of enterprises and facilities in the services sector of Iran over the reporting period.

“Moreover, the Iranian banks issued loans worth 1.48 quadrillion rials (about $35.1 billion) as working capital in the services sector within the three months,” the statistics said.

At the same time, the loans worth 15 trillion rials (about $364 million) were issued for repair work and 221 trillion rials (about $5.27 billion) for development in the services sector, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, the Iranian banks issued loans worth 7.51 trillion rials (about $179 million) for the purchase of personal assets, 11.9 trillion rials (about $283 million) for the purchase of housing, and 142 trillion rials (about $3.37 billion) for the other purposes in the services sector.

As reported, the Iranian banks issued loans worth about 4.97 quadrillion rials (about $118 billion) in various economic sectors in the first three months of the current Iranian year. This an increase of 71.3 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
