BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 30. A total of 5.1 million transfers worth 52.8 trillion tenge ($115.7 billion) were made via services of Kazakhstan National Bank's payment systems in May 2022, Trend reports with reference to the data of the bank.

This is 7.1 percent less in volume and 5.2 percent less in value compared to April 2022. On average, 268,900 transactions worth 2.8 trillion tenge ($6.1 billion) were carried out daily.

The volume of plastic cards issued in Kazakhstan amounted to 58.5 million cards as of June 1, 2022, and 51.2 percent of them were used in May 2022.

The volume of transactions via plastic cards of Kazakh issuers amounted to 739.2 million transactions worth 9.7 trillion tenge ($21.2 billion) in May 2022, which means an increase of 10.4 percent in volume and by 4.4 percent in value, compared to March 2022.

The share of non-cash payments made via cards of Kazakh issuers amounted to 96.9 percent (716.7 million transactions) of the total non-cash transactions carried out. The share of non-cash transactions value stood at 81.6 percent (7.9 trillion tenge or $17.3 billion).

Furthermore, the total volume of funds sent via international systems of money transfers amounted to 0.32 million transfers worth 110.2 billion ($241.6 million) in May 2022, which is 2.6 percent less in value compared to April 2022.

Out of the total volume of transfers, 77.1 percent of total volume or 89.3 percent of total value (98.4 billion tenge or $215.7 million) accounted for transfers from Kazakhstan to other countries.

Some 22.9 percent of total volume (0.07 million) and 10.7 percent of total value (11.8 billion tenge or $25.8 million) accounted for transfers in Kazakhstan.

The remaining 0.15 million transfers worth 69.2 billion tenge ($151.7 million) accounted for transfers from other countries to Kazakhstan.
