BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 19. Last week it became known the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) decided to keep the discount rate unchanged, at the level of 7.75 percent, Trend reports.

The upper limit of the interest corridor remained at the level of 9.25 percent, while the lower limit stood at four percent.

In addition, CBA forecasted a surplus in the current account in 2023.

The Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan submitted a draft state budget for 2023 to the Cabinet of Ministers.

CBA expects financial inclusion to increase within the framework of the financial sector development strategy for 2026.

Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) Taleh Kazimov and President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odile Renaud-Basso exchanged views on new areas of cooperation.

As part of the meeting prospect to expand cooperation between CBA and EBRD were discussed.

Furthermore, last week Azerbaijani Finance Minister Samir Sharifov discussed the current state and future directions of cooperation between Azerbaijan and ADB, and the priorities of the partnership strategy between Azerbaijan and ADB.

The parties discussed the strategy of cooperation between Azerbaijan and ADB for 2024-2028.

Furthermore, Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov and Asian Development Bank (ADB) Vice-President Shixin Chen discussed the status of implementation of joint projects with the country, the main priorities of the ADB Partnership Strategy for Azerbaijan covering 2024-2028, and future areas of cooperation.
