BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 30. Iranian banks lent approximately 1.13 quadrillion rials (about $26.8 billion) in the housing and construction sectors of the country in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), Trend reports.
Data of Iran’s Central bank shows that the loans were allocated for various purposes in the housing and construction sectors:
- Construction work: 619 trillion rials (about $14.7 billion);
- Working capital: approximately 430 trillion rials (about $10.2 billion);
- Development work: 46.1 trillion rials (about $1.1 billion);
- Purchase of housing: 25.6 trillion rials (about $611 million);
- Purchase of personal assets: 4.51 trillion rials (about $107 million);
- Repair work: 1.3 trillion rials (about $31 million);
- Self-employment: 862 billion rials (about $20.5 million).
In total, the Iranian banks issued loans worth about 20.4 quadrillion rials (about $485 billion) in various economic sectors within the first 6 months of the current Iranian year.
