Communication Services Rise by 50% in Nakhchivan AR
Azerbaijan, Baku, 10 November/ Trend , corr S. Babayeva/ In January to September, communication services worth AZN 17.2mln were offered in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan which is 51.5% more than the indicator of the same period of 2007. About 80.8% or AZN 14mln of services were offered by private companies with a rise of 56.4%.
The Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies of the Autonomous Republic offered services worth AZN 3.3mln which is more than the indicator of the same period of 2007 by 33.6%.
The Ministry has laid 2,912 telephone channels over nine months.
Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) of Azerbaijan lies to the west of Azerbaijan. It borders on with Armenia in north and east and with Turkey and Iran in west and south. The total area of NAR is 5,500 sq m with a population of over 300,000. The capital city is Nakhchivan.
