Sinterra, Azertelekom to meet in mid-August

The next meeting between Sinterra of Russian and Azertelekom of Azerbaijan will be hold in mid-August, Azertelekom told Trend .

The meeting will be focused on bilateral cooperation and further plans of partnerships. The companies intend to appoint management and to name the Russian-Azerbaijan joint venture, which these companies have established, the company said.

At present JV constructs transborder fibre optical cable trunk between Azerbaijan and Russia, further to be used as a basis for laying a 10 Gpbs communication line.

Realization of this project will enable to join telecommunication infrastructures of operators in the Darbant-Guba section of the Azerbaijani-Russian border area and enlarge geographic presence of both operators in Azerbaijani, Russian and the Caspian littoral countries.

The new enterprise is a joint venture between Azertelekom of Azerbaijan and the national communication operator Sinterra close joint-stock company. In accordance with constituent document, Azertelekom and Sinterra hold 50 percent of share each in stock capital of the joint venture.
