The Azerbaijani system integrator Sistema Company has launched a pilot project to build a fiber-optic network to provide broadband services, Company CEO Aden Ilizarov told Trend on Monday.
Ilizarov said Russian producer of telecommunications equipment QTECH company is a supplier and a partnership agreement with it already signed.
"The equipment to be purchased by Sistema will be used for constructing in Ethernet network in Azerbaijan to provide the public with broadband Internet access. Delta Telecom will provide international communications channel," Ilizarov said.
The second area of cooperation with QTECH, is supply of DSL modems, which after testing will be available to Internet service, to Azerbaijan providers.
