The Azerbaijani Ministry of Health has issued approximately 300,000 electronic health cards, the Ministry of Health told Trend today.
Electronic health cards are made in the center of public health and reforms of the Ministry of Health. They are given to parents of newborns and children under age 14 free of charge through clinics.
The Ministry issues more than 10,000 electronic cards per month. E-card contains information about the identity of the holder, medical and social insurance, etc. The information is included into a single database directly from medical institutions through a local network, allowing exchanging official information repidly.
At present, all maternity hospitals and children's hospitals operate under the Ministry.
Automatization of medical records of patients simplifies search of necessary information and reduces time of making diagnosis. The project is being realized as a part of the state program "Electronic Azerbaijan".
