The Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry will discuss launching the first national telecommunication satellite Azerspace into orbit with the French company Arianspace, the ministry said.
Azerbaijani Communications and IT Minister Ali Abbasov will visit France to meet with the head of ArianeSpace company Jean-Yves Le Gall.
A ministerial delegation will include the heads of Azerbaijani IT-companies. They will participate in a business forum on ICT. They will discuss the issues of cooperation with French colleagues. The business forum is scheduled for June 7.
The bilateral meeting between Azerbaijani Minister and French Minister of Industry, Energy and Digital Economy Eric Besson is planned to be held within the forum.
The forum will open new opportunities for private sector cooperation between the two countries in high technologies.
Azerbaijani minister will take part in the third meeting of the Commission on broadband, to be held in Paris on June 5-6.
The main mission of the commission, established by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and UNESCO, is to promote broadband in the world. Abbasov is a member of the commission.
