The number of high-speed Internet users, the level of equipping the organizations, enterprises, educational institutions with information and communication technologies increases in Turkmenistan every day, Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper said today.
The state mobile communication enterprise "Altyn Asyr" renders the service of mobile Internet through GPRS and 3G.
"The residents of provinces and districts in the country obtained high-quality communication services due to the implementation of some projects," the article said.
The equipment of the world leader in telecommunications - Cisco was installed to render high quality Internet access.
Neutral Turkmenistan said that the demand for various services offered in the field of advanced technologies rapidly increases.
The country is doing everything to meet the needs of the population in modern communication systems. The equipment of telephone exchanges is being modernized. The fiber-optic communication lines are being laid between the towns. The satellite communication systems operate. The national mobile network is being expanded.
The total length of long distance and international trunk lines is over 7,057 kilometers. More than 3,901 kilometers are cable communication lines and more than 3,155 kilometers - microwave.
The length of the similar trunk lines is about 1,988 kilometers, fiber-optic trunk lines - more than 1,931 kilometers.
The digital automatic telephone exchanges have been introduced. The fiber-optic cables have been laid in Tejan-Babadayhan site in Akhal region, Serdar-Makhtumkuli and Etrek-Gyzylbayyr Makhtumkuli site in Balkan province, etc.
Similar work has been conducted on the territories of Lebap, Dashoguz provinces and Turkmenabat- Gazachak-Dashoguz site.
The international cooperation is being expanded.
According to the contract between the Communications Ministry and China's Huawei Technologies, digital switching systems were delivered and installed. The contract was signed with the Finnish Nokia Siemens Networks OY to supply and install the communication equipment for Altyn Asyr.
Another contract was concluded with "East Wind" company (the Russian Federation). The company will render technical support to increase subscriber capacity.
Terrestrial TV and radio broadcasting of national programs is carried out by various transmitters in 87 points in Turkmenistan.
A modern television center has been built and put into operation in Ashgabat. The equipment made in Germany, France and Russia was installed there. All national TV and radio programs are transmitted from Ashgabat via satellite channels in digital format.
