Azerbaijan's financial sector is most at risk in cyberspace, the general expert of the Forensic Examination Center of Azerbaijani Justice Ministry Natig Panahov told journalists on Monday.

Panahov said the problems mainly relate to non-cash payment transactions carried out with the use of plastic cards. Also the most relevant actuality is information theft.

"In 2012, additions were made to the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, which helped to strengthen the fight against cybercrime. It is known that cybercrime has become topical around the world and therefore it does not run away from Azerbaijan as well.

"Certainly, compared to the other countries, the number of crimes in Azerbaijan cyberspace is not so great. Nevertheless, as the country's integration into the international community progresses, this problem will become more and more topical, "Panahov said.

He said currently the number of experts and specialists is being increased in this field in Azerbaijan, but there is still much to learn from advanced countries in this field.
