Azerbaijan’s Azerpay payment system will soon be able to offer users online public transport payments (bus, subway), the company told Trend.

Azepay plans to use special stickers, with which, the abovementioned payments will become available. The company will be provided with sticker parameters over the next two weeks.

After receiving confirmation, the parameters will be analyzed and confirmed via the payment system.

"The stickers will be on sale when the contract for sticker order is signed,” the company said. “Until then a preliminary contract for the test lot is expected to be signed. The tests will be conducted in Baku for 5-7 service cases.”

“Stickers are a complex technological product for the formation of technical specifications, which are coordinated simultaneously with several local and foreign companies," the company said.

Negotiations are being held with the manufacturer of stickers, the supplier of equipment for BakuBus, local banks, processing centers, PayPass payment processing system, etc. Stickers will support the interface of card readers installed in Baku’s buses and metro.

New cards can be purchased at the offices of the country’s postal operator Azerpost LLC. The card balance can be filled through post officesç as well as MilliÖN, eManat, expressPay and EasyPay payment terminals.
