Azerbaijani wireless operator Aztrank has been put up for sale, a source at the company told Trend.

According to the source, the starting price of the company at the auction is 100,000 manats.

The company had earlier planned to to raise about 10 million manats to be able to get out of the crisis and expand its network throughout the country. However, as the source said, no decision was made on this issue.

The main advantage of Aztrank is that the company possesses frequency resources, which may interest other companies, for whom it is important to get the frequency spectrum they need.

Presently, Aztrank provides CDMA wireless services. The operator’s network covers the cities of Baku, Sumgayit and the Absheron Peninsula.

The operator has approximately 400 subscribers. The subscriber base of the company over the past three years has decreased by about five times.

Aztrank has been operating since 1996, and until 2005, its main activity was the provision of trunking services, and since 2005, the company began providing wireless services in CDMA standard.
