The Portmanat payment system in Azerbaijan is preparing to launch a test project for QR payments, Telman Akhundov, founder and chairman of the board of Akhundoff Group, creator of the payment system, told Trend.

According to Akhundov, the project is planned to be implemented jointly with one of the taxi services.

"The service is ready for operation and we plan to launch it in the next 2 months," Akhundov said.

There are 2 options for making QR payments - using a dynamic or a static QR code.

The static QR code payment is made by scanning a code printed at the cash register. It is enough for the buyer to bring the phone camera onto the QR code and the payment will be made after the required amount is entered.

Unlike the static one, a dynamic QR code is generated each time with the payment. The code is also scanned at the checkout. In this case, the buyer does not need to enter the amount, as it is automatically deducted from the client's card integrated in the app or from Portmanat account. Initially, the company intends to launch a static payment method, with an eventual switch to a dynamic one.
