Roadmap for electronic commerce development to be updated in Kazakhstan

Roadmap for electronic commerce development until 2023 is to be updated in Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Askar Mamin said, Trend reports with reference to the prime minister’s press office.

Issues of developing electronic commerce were discussed during a government session chaired by Mamin.

The volume of electronic commerce in the retail turnover of Kazakhstan has grown by more than one and a half times in 1H2020. Mamin stressed that e-commerce has great prospects and has a multiplier effect on related sectors of the economy.

“We are faced with the task of developing effective measures that will simplify e-commerce procedures, provide access to financing, increase confidence in the conclusion of transactions via the Internet, and will also counter cybercrime,” Mamin said.

Mamin instructed respective authorities to develop a special program to train entrepreneurs in effective online trading, with active participation of young people.

In order to develop trade logistics, the respective ministries were instructed to coordinate plans for development of fulfillment centers network and the National Distribution System, which is currently being created. Development Bank of Kazakhstan was in turn instructed to work out the creation of new lending products in online trade.

Mamin also instructed to intensify work on launching a single platform for receiving complaints and suggestions from consumers in online trade on the principle of "one window", as well as to establish effective feedback.

Mamin also gave orders to update the Roadmap for the development of electronic commerce until 2023.
