Azerbaijani ministry talks about internet services during pandemic

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 14

By Zhale Qasimova – Trend:

The online mode of operation is applied worldwide amid the COVID-19 epidemic, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies told Trend.

In this regard, there is a great increase in the load on the broadband network.

The main problem is changing the connection (geographically) under the load distribution.

Taking into account the closure of educational institutions, the volume of viewed content (online shows and video conferencing) by students at home is approximately 70 percent of all traffic.

When everyone wants to connect to the internet at the same time, difficulties are inevitable.

Taking all this into account, prompt actions are being taken to improve the smooth and fast network for users.

In this regard, new equipment was purchased. Moreover, the capacity of the operator’s network is also increased to prevent overload.

All questions and requests regarding the speed of the internet are recorded. The measures are promptly taken to resolve them.

A prepayment system has been introduced for Aztelecom and Baktelecom telecommunication services.

In this case, advance payment allows users to receive services per the paid amount.

Internet prices are regulated under the market and depend on operating costs and tariff scales.

At the same time, there are discounted packages for Baktelecom users. If the prices of tariff packages change, this will be announced in advance through the media outlets.
