Azerbaijan's electronic government portal registers more users in 2020

Center for Electronic Government Development of the State Agency for Public Services and Social Innovations (ASAN) under the President of Azerbaijan held a meeting on the results of 2020, a source in the center told Trend .

The center’s director Fariz Jafarov in his detailed report about the last year’s activities noted that according to the ‘Electronic Government Development Index’ published by the UN, in 2020 Azerbaijan ranked 13th among 69 countries belonging to the highest group, and among developing countries that don’t have access to oceans - in the top three.

It was emphasized at the event that, despite the prevailing conditions in the world, the center fully fulfilled the tasks assigned to it.

"The tasks set by the government have been successfully completed, the relevant projects have been transferred to the disposal of citizens, notable successes have been achieved in building the e-government," the source said.

Besides, in April 2020, the center, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, created a ‘System for obtaining permits and monitoring when introducing a special quarantine regime’

"During 2020, more than 1.27 million permits were issued to citizens to carry out various activities, as well as to over 139,000 organizations through the above system. Over the year, more than 112 million SMS messages were received from citizens via the SMS-permission system, of which more than 95 million applications have received appropriate permissions," the source further noted.

In addition, the report touched upon the use of the e-government portal ‘myGov’, ‘e-Gov’, and the single authorization system ‘ASAN Login’ by the population of Azerbaijan.

"By the end of 2020, the number of ASAN Login users has more than tripled compared to 2019, exceeding 1.7 million authorizations. The number of registrations on the E-Gov portal, which provides 443 services in 38 state structures, has grown by 175,000 times up to 1.26 million,” the report said.

“On the portal ‘myGov’, which provides access to more than 700 digital services, the number of users has increased tenfold compared to 2019, equaling 433,000. In 2020, the number of calls to the myGov portal increased by 15 times and amounted to 11.5 million. More than 3.2 million notifications were sent to citizens through the myGov portal in a year," added the report.
