During January-June 2006, the Ministry of Communication and IT of Azerbaijan put in use 112,286 phone numbers. The Ministry officials told Trend from this quantity 78,396 numbers fell for PA Baki Telefon Rabitasi, and the rest 33,890 for PA Aztelekom.
During this period, investments amounted 13.255mln AZN, which have been directed for reconstruction of communication facilities, installation of new phone lines in the outskirts of the capital and in regions.
During the entire 2005, the Ministry put in use 164,185 phone numbers, up 42,611 over year.
