The number of the Internet users in Azerbaijan differs from 700.000 to 800.000, the Head of the Department for Co-ordination of the State Bodies of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan Aflatun Mammadov told, Trend reports.
According to Mammadov, the number of the computers for each 100 persons equals 6-7. The indicator of using mobile connection in Azerbaijan equals 30 telephones for every 100 persons. The percent of the installation of telephones in the country exceeds 60%. The index of electronization of communications makes 70%.
Within the State Program for Development of Information-Communications Technologies in Azerbaijan in 2005-2008, works are carried out to apply new communications technologies.
Today the share of the new services, especially communications of the third generation, equals 5%, Mammadov emphasized.
