Tender within WB project announced in Azerbaijan

The State Service on Management of Agricultural Projects and Credits under the Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry has announced a tender to attract consulting services within a joint Agricultural Competitiveness Improvement Project with the World Bank to strengthen the country's agricultural competitiveness.

The winner will have to conduct training for staff of the Azerbaijan Scientific-Research Institute of Crop Husbandry under the Agriculture Ministry, as well as make recommendations for improvement.

The consultant is also expected to have one field mission to Azerbaijan in June-July 2018 for a period of 13 working days.

Those wishing to participate in the tender must send their applications no later than 17:00 (GMT + 4) on June 5, 2018.

The project on Agricultural Competitiveness Improvement worth $53.2 million has been implemented in Azerbaijan since 2013.

The development objective of the Agricultural Competitiveness Improvement Project (ACIP) for Azerbaijan is to facilitate the access of agricultural producers to markets by strengthening sanitary and phytosantiary services, enhancing selected value chains, and providing financial services to agribusiness enterprises.

The project contributes to the further development of agribusiness and food industry through provision of loans for improving technology, increasing production, and upgrading phytosanitary and veterinary services. The project also contributes to the improvement of the regulatory and institutional framework for food safety and quality.
