Nearly 900,000 tourists from Russia visited Turkey in July 2018

In June 2018, 897,607 tourists from Russia visited Turkey, which is 4.43 percent more than in the same month of 2017, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey told Trend Aug. 31.

The share of Russian citizens in the total number of foreigners who visited Turkey in July 2018, amounted to 15.83 percent.

The Ministry also said that the Russian tourists are leading by the number of foreign tourists who visited Turkey in July 2018.

Within seven months of 2018, Turkey has been visited by a total of 3,276,046 tourists from Russia, which is 29.61% more compared to the same period in 2017, the ministry stated.

In July 2018, Turkey was visited by 5,671,801 tourists in total, which is 11.74 percent higher than the indicator for the same month of 2017.

In July 2018, Turkey was visited by 761,278 tourists from Germany, 354,851 - from the UK, 218,685 - from the Netherlands, and 199,684 tourists from Ukraine. The remaining part of tourists who visited Turkey in July 2018, fall to the share of other states.

During the above-mentioned period, the Turkish province of Antalya was visited by 2,103,421 tourists, accounting for 37.09 percent of the total number of tourists.

In July 2018, Istanbul was visited by 1,502,397 tourists, which account for 26.49 percent of the total number of tourists.

At the end of January-July 2018, the number of tourists visiting Turkey amounted to 21,639,802 people, which is 24.9 percent more than the indicator for the first half of 2017.
