Turkmenistan Airlines delays launching flights to Malaysia

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, Jan. 31

Turkmenistan Airlines, the national carrier of Turkmenistan, has postponed launching regular flights to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from February to March 2020, Trend reports on Jan. 31 referring to the company.

The passenger flights are planned to be carried out via Boeing 777-200 LR.

It was earlier reported that the potential of relations between the two countries in the transport and transit sphere was being explored. Turkmenistan considers Malaysia as the most important partner in the Asia-Pacific region.

Malaysian Petronas Carigali company is actively operating in the Turkmen market. Petronas Carigali became the first foreign company which began to develop the Turkmen shelf of the Caspian Sea.

Furthermore, the Malaysian government is exploring the possibilities for its companies to participate in the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project.
