The State Automobile Transport Service (DANX) of Azerbaijan conducted an exchange of ‘permit forms’ with the relevant government agencies of foreign countries in the first quarter of 2021, a source in DANX told Trend.

According to the source, the ‘permit forms’ were intended for the further implementation of international road transport within Azerbaijan, and for Azerbaijani carriers - within foreign states.

As a part of the activities, 120,875 permits were issued for entry, exit, and transit travel, 11,405 permits only for transit to third countries, and 1,350 – for international transport.

Besides, the State Road Transport Service under the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and High Technologies of Azerbaijan has begun to equip vehicles with tachographs in order to control freight and passenger traffic.

"To date, digital tachographs have been issued to 64 drivers for the first time, and 8 of the previously issued tachographs have been replaced with more modern ones," added DANX.

Within the multilateral system of quotas of the International Transport Forum, the number of multilateral permits for Azerbaijan is set to 1,140 pieces, and the number of multilateral ones is 240.

During the reporting period, local carriers engaged in international road transport attracted over 1.16 million manat ($680,000) of duties to the state budget.
