Kazakhstan increases revenues from cargo transport by road

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 1

Kazakhstan’s revenues from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via road transport amounted to 15.6 billion tenge ($33.6 million) in January 2022, which is 21.4 percent more than during the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The volume of cargo, luggage transported via road transport during the reporting period amounted to 227.3 million tons, which is 0.6 percent more compared to the same period of last year.

Cargo turnover amounted to 11.01 billion ton-kilometers which is 0.2 percent more than during the same period of last year.

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 6.3 billion tenge ($14.5 million) over the reporting period of 2022, which is 1.4 percent more than during the same period of last year.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 474.5 million people, which is 24.3 percent more than during the same period of last year.

The passenger turnover amounted to 5.1 billion passenger-kilometers which compared to the same period of last year is an increase of 20.3 percent.
