Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov proposed to amend the Law "On State Awards" and award President Nursultan Nazarbayev "Halyk Kaharmani" ("National Hero") by presenting him "Golden Star" and Order "Otan", Kazakh Justice Minister Rashid Tusupbekov said on Tuesday.
"It is associated with the president's historical role in the formation of independent Kazakhstan. Thanks to his tireless dynamic activity Kazakhstan has positioned itself in the international arena as an independent powerful state," Tusupbekov said addressing a government meeting.
The Kazakh government has supported this proposal.
