Malaysia is a priority partner of Kazakhstan in Southeast Asia, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev told journalists after the meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak in Kuala Lumpur.
Moreover, Nazarbayev believes that the relations between Kazakhstan and Malaysia will develop in future.
"I believe that our relations have very good prospects. We established a trustful dialogue at the highest level. The main areas of our cooperation have been determined and we create inter-governmental commissions and working groups for different sectors of the economy," Nazarbayev said.
First of all, Kazakhstan is interested in cooperation with Malaysia in the energy sector, modernization of the refinery complex, mineral extraction, petrochemicals and construction, the President said.
Moreover, Nazarbayev invited Malaysian companies to take part in Kazakhstan's industrial program.
