The meeting of Kazakh Foreign Minister Erlan Idrisov and Secretary General of CSTO Nikolai Bordyuzha was held in Astana, Kazakh Foreign Ministry reported on Thursday.
"The sides exchanged views on current issues regarding foreign policy coordination within the organization. In addition, the parties discussed the main trends in the development of the international situation and a number of other pressing issues on security in the area of responsibility of the organization," the statement said.
Bordyuzha informed the Minister on the preparations for the upcoming joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, Defence Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils, as well as the Collective Security Council of the CSTO member-countries in Sochi on September 23.
The main themes of the September meeting will be the deepening of the political and military cooperation within the organization, the development of measures to counter modern threats and challenges.
