Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the bilateral cooperation issues in the trade, economic, fuel and energy and investment spheres, Kazakh president's official website said.

The meeting took place as part of the 11th Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan on Sept.30.

The two presidents focused on the cooperation in international and regional structures, including the Eurasian Economic Union and the Customs Union.

Kazakh president expressed confidence that the 11th Forum of Interregional Cooperation between the two countries will be the next step towards the development of the mutually beneficial cooperation.

"We will hold an interregional forum today, during which we will sign agreements on various spheres. Currently, we see a slight decrease of trade turnover between Russia and Kazakhstan, but I believe that this will not last long," Nazarbayev said.

Kazakh president expressed confidence that the Eurasian Economic Union will benefit all the participants.

Nazarbayev and Putin also exchanged views on the topical issues of the international agenda.
