At least 7 nominees continue election race in Kyrgyzstan

At least seven candidates for presidency continue election race in Kyrgyzstan, chairman of the Kyrgyz Central Election Commission Damir Lisovskiy informed journalists on Thursday, June 4, "24.kg" reported.

Signatures submitted to the Central Election Commission by the candidates are being checked at the time. Reception of signature sheets was finished at 00:00 on June 2. According to requirements, nominees should submit at least 540 thousand signatures of Kyrgyz citizens all over the republic and 1.5 thousand from every region of the country in their support.

Incumbent President Kurmanbek Bakiev, leader of Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambaev, leader of the party Ak-Shumkar Temir Sariev, narcologist Jenishbek Nazaraliev, chairman of NGO and NCO Association Toktaiym Umetalieva, leader of People's Patriotic Movement Joomart Nurlan Motuev and businessman Akbaraly Aitikeev will continue the election race.
