Civil activists in Kyrgyzstan call for re-election of the head of the Council on Judges Selection Zamirbek Bazarbekov, 24.kg reported.
"Civil Council for Control over the judicial system calls for the Council on Judges Selection to re-elect the chairman. The references to Zamirbek Bazarbekov were received discrediting his reputation," explain the leaders of public association.
According to them, the documents indicating faulty characterization of the head of the Council on Judges Selection were received at the disposal of the Council on the control. Civic activists are ready to give these facts to journalists at a press conference.
"Civic activists urge the media to bring to the public the nature and the content of law violations committed by Zamirbek Bazarbekov that heads the body now; and he is responsible for the selection of judges including the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Chamber," the Council on the control explains.
It is not the first scandal happened in again established Council on Judges Selection.
Earlier, the civil activists caught the speaker Sarylbek Borbashev in concealing "important information" during the interview with the candidate for the vacant position of judge of the Constitutional Chamber Azimbek Beknazarov.
According to human rights activists, "he didn't voice the complaint that was based on the decision of the UN Committee on Human Rights against the Kyrgyz Republic."
"The UN has recognized the refugees issue to Uzbekistan as the violation of the right to protection from torture. The decision on the issue was accepted by Azimbek Beknazarov holding a post of the Attorney General in the Kyrgyz Republic. The Council on Judges Selection did not consider the contents of the decision of the UN Committee on Human Rights concerning the right to protection from torture and the word "torture" was not voiced by any of the participants. The chairman of the Council on Judges Selection Zamirbek Bazarbayev is personally responsible for concealing the information on the candidates and the failure of the procedure," said civil activists.
