BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 14. A total of 14 Kazakh enterprises applied for the right to export fish products, Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan Serikkali Brekeshev said at the government meeting in the Mazhilis [lower house of the parliament], Trend reports on November 14 via the Kazakh media.

“Currently, 72 fish processing enterprises are operating, of which 17 meet high requirements and received the right to export fish products to the EU countries. Besides, in order to expand the export market, a veterinary certificate was agreed between Kazakhstan and China, and 64 Kazakh enterprises were included in China’s register,” Brekeshev noted.

According to him, within the framework of the bill ‘On amendments to Tax Code’, a 70 percent reduction in VAT is envisaged for entities engaged in fish processing. The bill is under consideration in the parliament.

“We also plan to introduce subsidies for highly processed fish products obtained from domestic raw materials. The bill (‘On amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of Republic of Kazakhstan on doing business’) is under consideration by the government . We are also developing an information system for the traceability of fish products to reduce the shadow turnover,” said the minister.
