BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 5. Tajikistan's Ministry of Agriculture has shared an updated data on country's cotton production, Trend reports citing the ministry's press service.
As reported, the total volume of cotton production in Tajikistan as of September 30, 2022 amounted to 195,764 tons.
"To date, a total of 137,476 tons have been collected in the Khatlon region, 55,863 in the Sughd region and 2,426 tons in districts under central government jurisdiction," the message said.
According to the ministry's projections, a total of 425,000 tons of cotton should be collected in Tajikistan this year.
Meanwhile, based on the Forecast of the Main Macroeconomic Indicators of Tajikistan for 2022-2024 it is anticipated that 60,000 tons of cotton worth $89.9 million will be exported from Tajikistan this year.
