Ashgabat names representative in Turkmen-Russian Commission

Composition of the Turkmenistan-Russia Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation has been approved by Turkmen side.
According to a decree by Turkmen president, the country's delegation at the Commission will be headed by Rashid Meredov, deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs.
The presidential decree said the appointment of a new composition in the Commission will serve the "objectives of realizing bilateral agreements between Turkmenistan and Russian Federation, and further development of relations between the two countries."
Russia holds a leading position in the rating of major foreign trade partners of Turkmenistan.
Turkmenistan's cooperation with Russia's largest regions - Tatarstan, Astrakhan, and Sverdlovks - has stepped up in recent years.
