A regular meeting of authorized representatives of the Caspian States is held in Ashgabat, a source closely involved in organization of the event said April 26.

The meeting brought together delegations from Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan to agree on the text of a draft agreement on trade and economic cooperation in the Caspian region.

The organizers were the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economy of Turkmenistan, as well as the State Enterprise for the Caspian Sea Issues under the President of the country.

Earlier it was reported that the official Ashgabat initiated the creation of a permanent Caspian economic forum.

The Caspian Sea is the largest inland water body in the world, not connected with the world ocean.
