BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 26. Russia and Turkmenistan are aiming at a significant development of trade and economic relations, a source in the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation told Trend.
"Despite the restrictions associated with the pandemic, regular dialogue is maintained, and online meetings are held between ministries, departments and business circles of the two countries. In addition, President of Russia Vladimir Putin recently met with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov," said the source.
At the same time, despite the global instability, Russia intends to remain a responsible partner. One of the main tasks for Russia is the reorientation of imports and exports, the search for new suppliers, and the building of new logistics and production links, especially with the CIS countries.
"An important role in the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries is played by the intergovernmental Russian-Turkmen Commission for Economic Cooperation, as well as the high-level group on trade and investment support within the framework of the commission," said the source.
