BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 26. Businessmen of Singapore purchased urea during trading on July 25 at the State Commodity and Raw Material Exchange of Turkmenistan, Trend reports citing Orient news.
Entrepreneurs from Singapore purchased 150,000 tons of urea grade B on the exchange at a price of $283 per ton. The total amount of the transaction was $42.4 million.
Meanwhile, the main producers of urea in Turkmenistan are the Garabogazkarbamid and Tejenkarbamid plants.
The Garabogazkarbamid plant is the largest in Central Asia and is designed to manufacture 1.15 million tons of fertilizers per year.
The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important body of state regulation of export-import operations.
