BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 3. The balance of credit funds issued by credit institutions of Turkmenistan to state institutions and enterprises as of January 1, 2023 amounted to 57.68 billion Turkmen manats ($16.46 billion), Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
According to the information, these figures are 6.4 percent higher than the same date last year (54.2 billion Turkmen manats or $15.46 billion).
The total amount of loan balances issued to non-state enterprises and organizations of the country at the beginning of January this year amounted to 12.15 billion Turkmen manats ($3.46 billion), which is 37.7 percent more than in the same period of 2021 (8.82 billion Turkmen manats, or $2.51 billion).
The country's financial sector is constantly expanding. In particular, mobile applications are being introduced to pay for various services and goods, the number of non-cash payments is increasing, and payment for goods and services is being implemented through bank terminals.
