(newscentralasia.com) - The annual oil and gas conference and exhibition of Turkmenistan have been scheduled for 19-21 September 2006.
This would be the 11th uninterrupted annual gathering of oil and gas professionals in Ashgabat, reports Trend.
The ministry of oil and gas industry and mineral resources and the chamber of commerce and industry of Turkmenistan have invited interested countries, firms, enterprises and organizations to apply for registration for the forthcoming event.
The occasion Oil and Gas Turkmenistan 2006 is timed to coincide with the celebrations marking the 15the anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan.
The twin event of conference and exhibition would be aimed at attracting investment to the oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan. Under the national development programme up to 2020, Turkmenistan hopes to increase gas production up to 240 billion cubic meters and oil production to 100 million tons annually.
Between 2005 and 2020, Turkmenistan plans to invest nearly US $ 63 into the oil and gas industry. This would include US $ 25 billion of foreign direct investment under the production sharing agreements.
