President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov received the CEO of South Africa's Sasol Synfuels International (Pty) Ltd. (Sasol) David Constable and President of Malaysian Petronas International Corporation Ltd. (Petronas) Dato Shamsul Azhar Abbas.
The head of state said that Uzbekistan considers Sasol and Petronas as a reliable partner and appreciates the cooperation with these companies.
Currently, the National Holding Company "Uzbekneftegaz" in partnership with Sasol and Petronas companies joint project for construction the plant to produce synthetic liquid fuels (GTL) of methane produced by Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex in Uzbekistan.
The project provides a production of clean synthetic liquid fuels, primarily diesel fuel and jet fuel to the standards of Euro-IV, Euro-V.
A "Uzbekistan GTL", joint venture which is now completed basic design phase, and a preliminary feasibility study based on that.
During the visit, the heads of Sasol and Petronas in Uzbekistan signed documents that will form the basis for the transition to the second phase of the project, including detailed engineering design and placement of orders for equipment.
At the meeting, the guests have confirmed their interest in further cooperation.
The talks reviewed progress in implementing joint projects, exchange of views on deepening the partnership in the sphere of investments and high technologies.
